What is the Dengue Test (NS1 / IgM)?
NS1 antigen is a part of the dengue virus and is detectable in the first days of fever. IgM antibodies appear after about 5 days, and IgG indicates past or repeat infection. A CBC is usually done alongside to watch platelets and white cells.

Understanding your results
A positive NS1 or IgM suggests current dengue infection. An early negative IgM does not rule out dengue. Go to a hospital immediately if there is bleeding, severe stomach pain, repeated vomiting or unusual drowsiness. Avoid painkillers such as ibuprofen or aspirin unless your doctor advises.
