What is the Thyroid Profile test?
The thyroid gland in your neck controls how fast your body uses energy. TSH is the signal from the brain that tells the thyroid to work, and T3 and T4 are the thyroid hormones themselves. Together they show whether the thyroid is working normally.
Why is it done?
- Tiredness, weight gain or loss, hair fall, or feeling unusually cold or hot
- Irregular periods or difficulty conceiving
- Before and during pregnancy
- Monitoring thyroid medicine doses
- A swelling in the neck
How to prepare
- Fasting is usually not needed
- If you take thyroid medicine, ask your doctor whether to give the sample before your morning dose
- Tell us if you take biotin supplements, which can affect some results
When will I get my report?
Usually within 4 hours (done in-house). You'll receive an SMS with your login to download the report online. Need help reading it? Try our free AI report explainer in English or Hindi.
Understanding your results
A high TSH usually suggests an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism); a low TSH may suggest an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). T3 and T4 help confirm the pattern. Mild changes are common and are often rechecked before treatment is started.

Usually not. Follow your doctor's advice about thyroid medicine timing.
What is the difference between TSH and a thyroid profile?
